What is yamato katana?

Yamato katana is a type of Japanese sword that is believed to have originated in the Yamato Province during the late Heian period (794-1185). It is characterized by its long, slender, and curved blade, which is designed for swift and precise cutting. The yamato katana is considered one of the finest swords in Japan due to its exceptional craftsmanship, sharpness, and durability.

Some of the key features of the yamato katana include a deep and wide fuller (hi) that runs along the blade's length, a single bevel edge, and a distinctive chisel-shaped point (kissaki).
